Hunters and guides will be waiting for the Jetstream to return. Fully enclosed, one-hand operable, and dead quiet, its the premier binocular harness solution. Please bring back a burly version of this jacket bring back a more durable outer material. KUIU Pro Bino Harness Verde XL version ( see their website for Bino size ranges ) Includes ADDED Rangefinder Holder 2.0 Verde color.(40 value) Excellent condition, only used once. I understand the market strategy - there's just no way the 2022 Jetstream is worth the high asking price. In the early days they were the best gear - now they seem like they're aiming to be the 'available everywhere' gear. The large sized system weighs 7 ounces, fits binoculars up to 10×42 and is available for 79.99. To me, this feels like a jacket design that saves on production & materials to aid Sitka's race to being ubiquitous. The Binocular Harness System is available in Vias or Verde Camo. I can't keep the cuff on my wrist (you could save on gloves by wearing it over your hands). The cuffs are honestly at least 1-2" too big and there's no way to tighten them. It's still marketed and cut like outerwear it feels like the material would be better suited to a mid- layering piece. There's just no way I can see this version standing up to hard use. I purchased a 2022 Jetstream - I hate to say that the recycled outer poly fabric is more like a simple hard fleece sweatshirt (think UnderArmour, Nike, etc). I've really beaten on my 2013 & 2014 Jetstreams, in hard weather and hunting conditions, and they've taken it all without failure. Back then, the Jetstream was a sturdy piece of technical outerwear. One of the major differences from the old Kuiu harness to this new Pro. As a hunting guide, I've owned Jetstreams going back to 2013. I started using the FHF Gear bino harness on my hunts five years ago and even. I'm writing this review to try and impact the direction that future Jetstream iterations take. Learn how to operate this piece of equipment and I promise you it will help you make those difficult shots in the field a lot more do-able.I'm disappointed in the changes to this jacket over the years. I’ve hunted with it in -25 below zero temperatures in Montana and driving rain in Washington and it’s worked every time. Other than those two minor details the trigger stick has worked flawlessly for me. It’s always along on day hunts or hunts where I’m using an ATV for transportation though. Because of the added weight I probably wouldn’t take it with me on extreme hunts into the backcountry when shaving pounds and even ounces off a pack is critical. Keeping the strap cinched tightly around the legs alleviates that problem. If they catch on the brush and then come back together quickly they make a clanging noise thats no bueno. The only drawbacks I’ve found with the tripod version is that it’s a little heavier to lug around and if you’re in a stalking situation be sure to keep the rubber strap around the bottom of the legs. Here’s a quick video that shows how it works and there are plenty more videos on YouTube for this product. I immediately purchased the Jim Shockey Tall Tripodand it’s helped put several deer in our freezer now. The second I returned home I jumped on the Primos website and found that they had just released a new tripod version of their Trigger Stick. The wind was howling and even with the rifle resting firmly on the bipod the crosshairs were waving all over the place. On a particularly windy day a few years back in the blacktail woods, however, I couldn’t hold the crosshairs steady for a standing shot at a buck around 150 yards away. I originally purchased the Primos Bi-pod Trigger Stick and had great luck with it. Here’s a quick video from Jason Hairston of KUIU that shows how the binocular harness works: If you hunt here in Washington you’ll spend quite a few days in the rain. Most of the time I don’t need to do that though. If it’s really coming down sideways I’ll pull the rain cover over the harness. I live in Washington State and most of my hunting occurs in the west where we don’t think twice about scrambling up mountains and ridges after big game.Īs advertised this bino harness fits tight to my chest and does a fairly good job of keeping the rain off my binoculars. I found that with KUIU’s binocular harness. Here’s a couple of outstanding products that have helped my hunting tremendously the last few years:Ī few years ago I started shopping around for a new binocular harness that was durable, easy to use, lightweight, and compact.
